Tell all your TBM friends that this gay apostate has just bought his third apartment today, and will own two more on Oct 22, so then I will own five, namely the one I live in and four to let, which bring in about 500 euros a month each after taxes (the tenants have been there for years already).

It's all in the same building, in the center of a nice city, and three flats look out at the river and the ruins of a medieval castle. The two others look out on a park and the 400 foot cathedral tower built between 1351 and 1521. Oh, and the surrounding streets are pedestrian, which makes the place feel like a medieval beach resort.

Sorry if I boast, but I feel I'm the richest man on earth right now. I lost both my parents a few years ago and have been able to re-invest my inheritance in the building where I've lived for four years now. I could not have asked for anything more.

But hey, God is testing me too you know: it's raining a bit today.

We bought a short sale last month where the owners have been moved out for almost a year. (I know my mom's probably going crazy not being able to use her favorite term 'tithing story' for the great deal we got. I also made sure to subtly bring up the fact that we got their monthly Ensign in the mail with a stack of letters from bankruptcy lawyers...)

As a side note, guess who showed up on fast sunday with their hands out for an offering? Yup, that would be elders from the ward that could only comment 'oh, that must be why we haven't seen them in church' when my husband explained that the previous owners were gone, had been gone for almost a year, and that we did not wish to be bothered.

We came home to an invite to a ward party on the door last night, addressed to the old owners.

Way to stay heads-up guys!
