It's been 8 months now. I'm not hearing about fears of crowded obstetrics wards.

As far as I know, the US is still on track to have the first year in US history that the country has lost population. Next year will probably be the second.

That means the pool of new tithe payers will shrink noticeably about 20 years from now. And you can bet your bottom dollar the bean counters at the LDS COB keep rigorous track of things like that.

This is the longest I've gone without fathering a child!!!

And next year it will be one year longer...

Order your Black arm band now!

It's all gone invitro and turkey baster I'm sure. The gays are the only ones you're going to see at the PTA meetings in a few years. Everyone else is into a corner in the den thinking how the hell did I not see this before? Beloved is nightmare!

Are you a MexiCAN or a MexiCAN’T?

Speaking of which, I noticed that Mesa, AZ has a public legal assistance program called “MesaCAN”.

Why? Just black arms?
What about the band?
I don't have a black arm.
Not even an eye for an I.
Maybe a black belt though.
But that is about it.

Get a room

I've expected the high schools to be bursting at the seams with pregnancies, due to the kids at home with access to liquor and unchaperoned beds.

My hometown had a birthing season every year. It hit in October, which lined up with a Christmas vacation conception date. Several senior high school girls "had" to get married about graduation every year, too. Something like 1/3 of the senior class women were pregnant at graduation.

there could be even worse situation down the road, the covid precaution has dampened dating at all levels as well. People aren't as friendly and getting to know each other as much especially in the big cities, the night life is dead across America and Europe. Singles with masks are on the rise.

Covid precautions are "dampening dating at all levels." So are death and chronic illness.

But hey, who's counting?

In the 40s to 60s TV, if you even had one, went off the air around 11 PM give or take.
Movies were seen at drive ins and no VCR/DVD.

Today you can binge watch all night on demand.

The bulk of the house work / child care is falling once again on women, who are now working from home and juggling their husbands' emotional states. They are too exhausted to participate in another baby boom. Plus who wants to be in and out of hospitals during a contagious pandemic?

It'll take that long?

Doubtful

If there is a big drop in births right now, yes, it will take 20 years before there is a corresponding big drop in people turning 20, which is the age when they can start becoming tithe payers.

Universities keep careful track of birth rates, and are well aware many years in advance of when they are going to be dealing with expanding, or more common now, shrinking student populations. They adjust their marketing accordingly. I have no doubt that LDS Inc has serious demographers on staff for the exact same purpose.

As a midwife, I have a baby boom coming up next month. Our lockdown started March which lines up with my December due dates.

Maybe there is a pandemic baby boom coming. I don't have any contact with obstetrics offices, so the only way I'd know about it is through the media, and so far I haven't seen anything there.

I think I will suggest to SLTrib that they send someone down to Utah Valley hospital to see what's happening. Between all the Mormon college students at UVU and BYU, Utah County usually does a very brisk business in marriage licensing and baby birthing. My guess is licensing is way down this year, and birthing will be way down next year.

All that extra time in lockdown was supposed to mean more time between the sheets "doin' what comes naturally?" Not so! Apparently economic hardship and job uncertainty has had a depressing effect on the fertility rate.

On the other hand, I'm proud and happy to report that grandchild #2 (granddaughter #1) is due mid-May 2021!

Too risky to have sex right now. Not worth it. I just got tested for covid and the test came back negative and I was very happy.

Too risky for what? Sex? Or. Kissing? Working next to someone? Dancing-Drinking/ singing/ talking/ laughing, passing someone or even catching it in the air... yea, sex could be dangerous...

I've NEVER heard of an unrisky chance encounter that lead to inner - or outer (of course ;)~ - course, or even making out, that didn't involve "checking out" the prospective mate (like a library book or film), meeting, courting, what people call vetting or dating, and going with your instinks, er lol pheromones... use your GUT (or whats just below it if you dont blow it or already know it). Use The Force.

'Nothing Is Safe', by Clipping, on their album There Existed an Addiction to Blood, just came on as I 'thoughtyped' it. that's wonderful...

The tithing pool is already being drained... and yes, they are throwing out the babies with the font water.

People are getting tired of mormonism, ESPECIALLY the mormons.

"And you can bet your bottom dollar the bean counters at the LDS COB keep rigorous track of things like that".

No, the PROFIT keeps track
Even though he's off track
AND off his rocker
He's just a talker

They shouldn't need any more tithing money they can invest their billion dollar rainy day fund. My sister in law had a baby October 2020, conceived during the covid pandemic. My cousin's son got married July this year he and his wife both are students at BYU. Who knows maybe they will have a baby soon. My cousin said that BYU doesn't have as many weddings as when she went there (1996) not sure if her observations are true or not? Anyone return and report. BYU single wards are they having many weddings?

Yeah but some of those babies will grow up to be cowboys, or at least start to be smart and play their part, in their own lives.

I dunno... I have an acquaintance who told me three years ago that she was stopping at two kids. She had just had a baby boy. Guess who's pregnant again and looks about ready to pop...
