The Achilles Heel is that doesn't provide a useful explanation for the meaning of life. For example, on my mission, we were taught to say that the purpose of life is to gain a body and to be tested. The value of the LDS church is ultimately the social network that it provides, because the theology is copied, silly, offensive, of a combination of those traits.

Another Achilles Heel is that it discourages people from staying and from joining the church by not providing them with full participation in the church, or with real leadership opportunities. It does this through outright excluding women from leadership, and by excluding many men on account of socio-economic and other factors.

The "holy ghost" is whatever you want it to be. To me it represents my inner voice that wants to join the group and to not disappoint others. This tendency I have was manipulated by the cult to draw me farther in.
