Flood social media for a week..(Rolls Eyes) It's just a giant group self affirmation, and members use these type of things to righteous-police each other- "I better post something today to show how obedient and humble I am." They watch each other. Once it is over, they go right back to their ordinary lives.

Also, as I read these FB postings, some of them feel like they are fulfilling an assignment. "today I am grateful for".... and then tomorrow they will do that day's assignment. Is there a little peer pressure going on with this? Makes me wonder.

I am certain it is fear pressure always more than peer pressure.

It was just a little while ago that they were telling the members to stay off of social media for 7-10 days.
Now, it's flood the social media for 7 days.

when I was an electrical contractor, we in the trade used to joke about the inspectors; soon after the inspector's meeting(s), we all knew what area they focused on at the meeting/training by what they mentioned at job sites...

Then, after the next meeting, they switched their focus; it was as predictable as the tide!

In the 1980s and 1990s you could always predict the October General Conference topics by what happened at the August Sunstone symposia.

I cringe for the wives who post -- publicly -- how thankful they are for their husbands in spite of the trials in their marriage over his porn addiction (yes, this really happened). While it's good to keep social media "real" and raw and honest, must suck for the husband who is publicly shamed. It's kinda TMI.

I wonder if they realize how creepy they sound when they start their posts with "Our prophet has asked us ..." Which at least half my Mormon Facebook friends have done. It sounds so cult-like.

It is so boring to watch all this on facebook, It is all about Mormons thanking, because the prophet said so. I am disgusted by this and I hope it will end very soon!

I also noticed the people who have been gratitude boming the most have been returned same people downplaying Covid and refusing to wear masks. I'm glad you love your family. Now wear a f&@king masks so you won't kill mine.

Right!?!? Was there a schedule listed too? Everyone chooses the same topics and sometimes on the same days: family, scriptures, savior, temples.

Lack of creativity
" " free-agency
" " individuality

Three (3) things against my religion!

I'm against it too... that's why I don't have one, but two, er, three (myself, me & um, oh yeah, I). I must be high... up in tree, far off in a dream way off track out back, or really free. Maybe all 3. You wood 2 if you were me.

Mormonism's/ rusty's ETERNAL MESSage = nothing bu hot air. A dead affair.
