Simon and Garfunkel's "The Boxer" came up on rotation a little while ago and these lyrics stuck in my head, reminding me of some believers:

"All lies and jests, 'til a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest"

I believe it's "Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest" That changes the meaning every so slightly. And as we all know here, it's a very human thing to do.

A Word of Warning!!

Be very careful when attempting to meld song lyrics into the fabric of your life!

Some surfer band back in the 60s combined with my reading of Leon Uris' book, "Exodus" had me wondering why the band was singing about 'searching for Ari'.

And previous to that, I'd struggled mightily trying to comprehend why Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer would "...go down an' kiss Doreen".

All I'm saying is be careful!! Sometimes words are only worth what you pay for them.
