Maybe not for everyone, but it works for me.

The Council of Nicea expunged all references to reincarnation from the Bible. If Joseph Smith had actually restored the early church, he would have restored at least something about reincarnation. But no, not a peep. That’s a pretty big red flag. Today the yogic sciences are known in the West. They are sciences because they rely on direct observation instead of belief. So, reincarnation is kind of a basic thing. Joseph’s ignorance of it speaks to his level of enlightenment, which it seems didn’t rise much above chasing anything in a dress.

In the West it's called "ursine studies" and you can major in it at liberal universities that also offer degrees in underwater basket weaving.

I was in such a program and wrote my thesis under the direction of Professors Yogi and Booboo.

Yessir, Ranger Smith with her Ph.D. in Ursine studies at your service!

May I direct you to your destination? Yogic sciences are over there on the mats, theosophy and remote viewing classes to the left (obviously!) under the Sequoias, and Political Voodoo to the right in the Ivy Grove.

If you get hungry, the Vegan Cafe is just down that road, as are the toilets--but you'll have to take your own paper. And the donation box is for Stop the Seal, our effort to save the local fishery from excessive predation.

I thought it was delving into the more intricate study of playing Catcher for the NY Yankees as taught by Yogi Berra.

If Jesus were a Buddhist, it would have been the Miracle of the Loaves and the Legumes.

More euphonic than fishes, no?

Still loaves and fishes.

""Monks, I allow you fish and meat that are quite pure in three respects: if they are not seen, heard or suspected to have been killed on purpose for a monk. But, you should not knowingly make use of meat killed on purpose for you." [2]"

How is it possible for buddhists to self-reflect? There is no ego!

Read a text by an american christian missionary. He had been into eastern philosphy in the 1960s. Joined some cult. The easiest way to confront eastern gurus and leaders - that are denying the existence of the ego - is to go to their books, open the first pages, and look who owns the copyright to the books.

If there is no ego how can there be copyright?

You are confusing the ego with the self.

In Hinduism/Buddism, the ego is the illusion of existence as an individual. It comprises a spark of the divine with the passions and anxieties that bind that spark into this mundane existence. By contrast the true self is God, the union of all spirits in the cosmos.

The purpose of meditation is to enable the person to let go of earthly passions and attachments and eventually to merge with the universal self. Meditation is thus the ultimate in self-reflection: for once the adept masters the self through meditation, her ego is "extinguished (nirvana)" as she achieves nirvana.

So both the ego and the self exist. The former is the problem, and it exists until the discipline masters the self.

How do people know if the self is the ego or ego is the self?

Is there a perfectly balanced template for a self to compare with to know if you are on right way?

Cauda, you do realize that Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. are major world religions?

Just like Christianity, the major world religions have mainstream sects and some fringe nutters.

The Bible wasn't the Bible that you know back then.

"There is no evidence among the canons of the First Council of Nicaea of any determination on the canon, however, Jerome (347-420), in his Prologue to Judith, makes the claim that the Book of Judith was "found by the Nicene Council to have been counted among the number of the Sacred Scriptures".[40]"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblical_canon#Marcion's_list

So to base your untestimony on reincarnation in a group of texts not even compiled into the Bible you read is kinda strange.

Another way is to read what he produced and apply a little scritiny and common sense. Worked for me.
