I've got one, although mine is a recent (1990s?) reproduction. Standard gauge is fantastic---if you have the room. The Blue Comet was the last hurrah for standard, "O" gauge took over the catalogs after that.

The price for collectible toy trains continues to decline.

My Dad collected Lionel sets. I have a standard gauge set, but it's nothing compared to the Blue Comet.
