Just tried to get myself in a good mood. Googled some favorite candy I enjoy to eat once or twice a year.

But I have heard that americans do not enjoy liqorice.

Thank you for the reply.

Americans (all 328+ million of us) are an extremely "assorted" people (from all kinds of racial, ethnic, and geographical backgrounds), so some Americans like liquorice, while others don't.

I think liquorice is probably still fairly popular with the elementary school age set, so long as it is distinctly sweet.

I think most American adults probably don't like it all that much (even if they did when they were growing up).

There's liquorice and then there's Bassets which I have bought in the US along with copies. They can be found at World Market along with Aero, Crunchie and KitKat, a British candy bar made under license by Hershey.

Coffee Crisp is one of my favorites. I buy a several dozen whenever I go to Canada.

Love Bassett Liquorice Alsorts. My wife's favorite candy was the Idaho Spud chocolate bar.
