Jesus is coming across as stingy.

He has his prudent servants (Prudent since the mid-1950s, when they stopped letting Henry D. Moyle have his way with the building fund) gather up a hundred billion dollars and then gives them no instructions on how to use it. But they assume he's cool with them tapping it to bail out Beneficial Life and the City Creek project.

But from current appearances, Jesus has gone walkabout. He has left the building, but the temple building fund goes on.

"If Jesus doesn't want us to build more temples, he'll tell us to stop. If he doesn't tell us to stop, we'll keep on thrilling the fans by announcing more temples!!"

We're two months short of three years beyond the announcement of this temple. Remember the gasps? The Stone was rolling forward; the dominos are falling!!! Or was it bowling pins?
