Fisrt sounds from mars recorded!

It sounded like "load the animals, food and bees, man the space barges, secure the stoppers on the top and bottom! We drift to earth at dawn to start a new life on a planet that has been saved just for us!....and I hear there are curloms there!!!"

And another recording sounded like the wind. That must have been god speaking.

I still have faith that someone snuck a whoopie cushion into that Mars-bound payload. Keep listening with your ears, or whatever...

You can tell when the wind is god speaking by the temperature of the air.

I saw the video of the landing. I'm kind of disappointed that the surface seems to be covered in only dirt and rocks. Wouldn't it be cool if we could find a planet with plant and animal life? Some day...

Wonderful that we, right now, are able to hear the Martian wind.

I wish my Dad (who died over two decades ago) could hear it, too--because it would have been experienced by him as very personal.

(I am proud of what he accomplished during his working life: for most of my secondary school years, he was on the team of engineers, etc. who created the medical monitoring system the astronauts were wearing when they landed on the Moon.)

It isn't the first time sounds have been broadcast from Mars. Look at their own website:
