Many little things, but first and foremost is this:

Don’t be stupid.

Lots in that to unpack.

Mine?

Do the research conducted outside the church and consider the sources, then compare it to what you were taught inside the church and consider the sources.

Naturally someone known amongst his friends as "Old Smokey" would be familiar with Jah music.

You know, young people don't listen to Reggae anymore.

Such a pity. . .

I dunno.
I went to a reggae concert recently in Maui with tons of kids there and older folks, Ziggy Marley and UB40. Reggae is still the most popular music in a lot of places around the world, especially South Pacific and Africa,

When was that? I didn't think Marley performed in Hawaii anytime recently.

And where in the South Pacific is Reggae so popular? How did that happen?

Not sure about the recent concert... tons of kids? Masks?

But according Wikipedia, it has become popular in some pacific islands....its called "Pacific Reggae."

Yeah, that makes sense. But it doesn't quite mean Reggae is "the most popular music" in the South Pacific--or in Africa for that matter. I'm not even sure a majority of the inhabitants of Africa have never heard Reggae.

Agreed, but then facts don't always matter or aren't worth looking up to some folks.

Wiki didn't mention reggae for Africa and it has a short mention of Pacific Reggae for Polynesia. Pacific reggae has the beat and feel, but to my ear I'd say its highly appropriated from Jamaican as opposed to being original.

Yard style only mon!

There’s 428 Reggae Stations on Radio.net
https://www.radio.net/genre/reggae

2 are in Maui and they’re awesome.
One is in San Diego, Bob Radio. We listen to it frequently.
We have a radio station here in Seattle that has a Reggae session every Saturday morning. Rarely miss it.
Unless I am in Maui or SD.
Keep going West and it only gets more and more popular.
Before the lockdown Ziggy and Michael Franti spearhead played in Seattle, outdoors at a winery. Sold out.
Very mixed crowd.
Micheal Franti led a yoga session before hand.
He’s a yogi with a yoga center in Bali.
Dude is not only a musical genius, but a wise man.
A lot of hippies around still,
Young and old, like me.
My tribe.

I know. It was my anthem on the way out of Mormonism and still is. Felt like I was escaping Plato's Cave of Shadows.

You can trust me, D&D. And also EOD (if there is no money involved)!
