We're going to watch it tonight. I read a book about it years ago, but am looking forward to the show.....I like watching a story more than reading one.
Can it be said that it is realistic, as a takeaway, to conclude that the mormon prophets involved never rose above the rank of fallible human beings, and not even very good ones at that?
THAT'S what I want to know!
I also want to be assured that The Cat is really on to something when he criticizes the church.

Yeah, but that is about as far as it went. I did like it that they had Steve Christensen on tape saying that he purchased a document for $40,000 and "donated" it to the church. That is how it worked...arrangements made for members (not the church) to buy up controversial documents and donate them to the church. Perhaps a slick way of keeping the church's fingers out of it, but not keeping blood off of Hinckley's hands.
This doc is not going to break anyone's shelf. It kept it's focus on Hofmann and his associates. The church gets smacked a little, but it could have been A LOT worse. Church got off easy in this one.
