Tonight on "New Amsterdam"

A story line when a young African man is admitted with severe illness as a result of HIV (and is initially in denial) and who is a missionary for The COJCOLDS gets a visit from an older man...mission president maybe??...and admits that he has been with a man and now has HIV and the MP tells him "your mission is over"! And then at the end the MP forgave him???

The MP didn't look Mormon enough to me.

But the MP agreed to let him stay mormon and found him a mormon woman who understand & marry him. So he could have had children when he was medically safe.

Really?

I think I heard the Stake President mentioned too?

YIKES

What message is this sending? As part of the story line, it was that this gay man would have to live a fake life to be Mormon.

Mission President or Stake President with facial hair? Doubt it. Given the tone of the episode im disappointed it didn't throw more shade on the cult.
