At what point in time during the so-called first vision did either of the two beings Joe jr supposedly saw state that they were God?
Was the whole thing possibly an hallucination?

Of course, you know that there is no way to achieve consensus as to what the correct response ought to be.

My opinion, which I could probably be talked into changing with sufficient compulsion/reward, is that JoJu made it all up, YEARS after the alleged event took place.

So while it would actually be a kindness to say that it was a hallucination (brought on by excessive devotion to ghawd), I vote that it was just a ploy, to increase the viability of his nascent religion/cuckold-factory.

I agree
The whole thing was a made up scam and he began to believe his own bullshit which eventually led to him being killed in a gunfight

Everyone who was anyone was having visions of angels during that period of religious revivalism. You were no one without one.

The Smith guy did them one better. Why settle for mere angels. So common. He did at first like everyone, but then his story got re-edited, and got A better ending. God and Jesus. Agreed. It would have to have been serial hallucinations because the vision kept changing. Or he was lying straight through and just changed the lies.

It seems clear which is more likely.
