The world is controlled by a small group of aliens who look like honey badgers who landed in Ingolstadt, Bavaria in the 18th Century.

No one is going to influence this core belief of mine in the least.

Oh, and The LDS Church is very influential in the world much to the chagrin of many people in The Western United States who think it is an inspired and inspiring organization.

Is it true that honey badgers eat a lot of berries?

Maybe. The controllers are alien reptile eaters. They came here in pursuit of their prey.

You could be right. My neighbors across the street raise bee's for honey. What's a honey badgers favorite food?

OMG! I can't believe I never made the connection before now!

My dear Roy, you should be ashamed!

I've heard the alien badgers are fixated on punctuation.

That depends on which alien badger you encounter. Some don't care about apostrophe's.

With fewer people in the workplace due to the pandemic, there is a surplus of punctuation right now. We're just not using it up as fast as we used to. I'm just doing my part to deplete that reserve and bring the levels back down to normal.

That's how's I's feel's about's it's anyway's.

That's no problem. All the badgers are freshly washed and doused in 1960s women's perfume.

You'll love them!

Am I being bullied off of this board, or are you all just having fun with current topics? Honest question. If you're all making fun of me, I'm done.

I'm asking because I'm the one who brought up punctuation (which I now regret,) and also vintage women's perfumes, something in which I take an interest.

What an interest! For real?

I’m a scent hound, especially in love with feminine scents. I could get so lost in such an interest! Are there hobbyists of this sort? I could have never guessed.

(I’m naturally a grammar/spelling/etc enthusiast, but I learned a while ago, partly from RfM, that the internet is filled with people with English as a second language and even more people that just don’t care. Also, I found my posting/tweeting etc to be more fun when I do so with abandon. Skip the precision and get on with it, I learned. After all, posting/tweeting/etc is merely the thing I do on the way to something else.)

Yes, it started years ago when I lived in NYC. There was a small but interesting department store there, just south of Central Park and near the Plaza Hotel. It was called Henri Bendel. Bendel's used to carry classic vintage perfumes, specializing in those by the house of Guerlain. Most would have been scents that people never heard of. I would spend time after work unstopping the bottles and trying various scents.

I like what is now a classic scent, "L'air du Temps" by Nina Ricci. I also like other Ricci scents including "Fleur de Fleurs." Most can probably not be found outside of France or Europe. My mother was a fan of "Je Reviens" by Worth.

I despise the current trend towards celebrity-branded scents.

Yes, it's a bit of an odd interest, but I've learned to own my quirks. :)

Oh summer, how I would have liked hanging out with you after work in NYC!

I’m in confessional mode here. No one except one knows about my overwhelming love of scents. I’m scent haunted. And many a feminine scent is part of this haunting. The subtler the better.

(Except for high end soap, we here live in a scent free environment, as far as is possible. Well, except for the library, too, where I burn a vanilla candle. Reading and a specific kind of vanilla scent has been linked for me for over thirty years.)

Summer, if I'm suspected of 'bullying' you, rather than trying to have fun/be funny, I want to be clear that it is the latter. My "we don't need no stinking badgers" is a reference to a line in an old western, "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre".

I gotta add, summer, that I was making fun of myself since I am at least as obsessive about grammar and punctuation as you. And regarding perfume, you may have brought it up (I'd forgotten) but EOD went with it and I thought the image of him with perfume was too good to pass up.

I think the world of you, winter, spring, summer or fall.

:)

You like me, you really like me! (old reference.)

Normally I try not to be the grammar Nazi, but I think I hit my limit with apostrophes for plurals.

Sally Field's couldn't have said it better!

ETA: the missing apostrophe in Sallys name.

So is the rumor true that a certain 'Global Faith Leader' is actually an alien Honey Badger?

Yeah, with Nelson they decided to get more involved with Mormonism directly.
