If they can change White to Pure in the BoM, they should be able to change Bread, in the Sacrament prayer to Rice Cakes.

Then they can promote mormonism as being gluten-free!

They are going to need every advantage they can get.

“… we ask thee to bless and sanctity these rice cakes …”

I'll settle for nothing less than all-natural, certified organic, dolphin-safe, free-range, cruelty-free, non-GMO gluten-free local-sourced non-yeast crackers.

What? You say "cracker" is now a derogatory ethnic slur?

Never mind!

You forgot low sodium, songbird friendly, bicycle-delivered by union labour.

And yes, it should be transsubstatiation-compliant rice cakes.

D&C 27:2 "it mattereth not what ye shall eat ot what ye shall drink when you partake of the sacrament, if ye do so with an eye single to my glory."

In my time I've used:

Wheat Bread
Crackers
Raisin Bread
Biscuits
Cake

And...

Coconut water
Soda

And....

Kool Aid!

Did you change “bread” to the appropriate word or words in the prayer?

They could charge admission!:

“…bless and sanctify these 16 ounce rib eye steaks, cooked medium rare, with a baked potato and asparagus, to the souls of all those who partake of it …”

As long as it is done with an eye single to the glory of god

Beer and god are pretty much the same thing.

preferably with shredded carrots

"Oh God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this Jello..."

The outer ring of cups is grape juice, for the authentic, abstentious Baptists.

The next ring in is wine for people from more liberal traditions.

The next inner ring is coffee for AA's and people who might fall asleep during the service.

There's a smaller top ring of spring water if any Mormons show up.

Our communion cups are all paper, sourced from 60% recycled product.

A RedBull and Monster sample tray would be cool too.

Hahaha .... I guess I need to start drinking anti-freeze then. Will be much cheaper than the $2.50 for a 12oz can. Thanks for the tip!

I just remember how good that bread tasted on F&T Sunday when I was preparing the sacrament and was a bit famished.

I occasionally attend an Episcopalian church. If you partake of Holy Eucharist, you can ask for a gluten-free wafer.

It is not so much about the gluten as it is about the yeast.

Yep.. It has been revealed unto me that a portion of the spirits of the christ figure live on through the yeast and yeast infections that have endured through the ages. So the Catholics are partially right regarding their belief in trans-substantiation. It has been further revealed unto me that I'm a dumbass that does not know what I'm REALLY talking about...

Just for reference the LDS does allow rice cakes etc... It's the RCs who won't allow it.

Don't get me started on how the RC communion wafer tastes. It's torture, like tasting cardboard. And officially, you are not supposed to taste it anyway, so no complaints are allowed. Literally anything else would be better. Seriously, they should use tortillas. Or bread. Or literally anything else.
