Beck was in the news yesterday claiming little assistance from the State Department in helping the organization Nazarene Fund of which he is a board member. The NF site gives little information except that it claims to be about assisting Christian refugees in difficult countries. The three main leaders are Beck, another Mormon (at least a graduate of BYU), and an evangelical. The main thrust of the site is fund raising. The fund has no connection with The Church of the Nazarene.

Well I would guess the state department has better things to do than help them.

Can you imagine the arrogance of presuming the State Department should be assisting in Beck's own pet project, especially given his lack of long-term commitment to anything?

Sounds like a good cause, I'm not an expert on these anti Christian issues. Beck recently had his first art exhibition in park city a couple of weeks ago, he'S selling oil paintings. he's a lot like former president bush and Churchill, politicians turned artists,

Beck and Churchill in the same breath in any comparison is absurd but even that is an improvement over comparisons I am seeing between Churchill and the former president. To paraphrase a favorite Churchill quote: "An empty taxi pulled up (at parliament) and you know who got out."

Sure hope he isn't a Thomas Kinkade schlock type of painter.

I agree that it is arrogant on the part of Beck to assume the Sate Department should immediately throw everything at an unknown entity such as Beck"s Nazarene Fund.
