Who writes a vigorous defense of Holland’s homophobic rant where he encouraged BYU Profs to pick up their muskets in defense of the faith’s hate speech towards gays that has caused Utah to be the perennial leader in youth suicide and Prozac addiction.

This article did mention the thing people seem to be forgetting-that the speech was targeted to BYU faculty snd staff, not students. He was lambasting employees who are LGBTQ allies for students. He’s calling out compassion not the “same gender challenge.” That’s why I hate that these stupid Mormons keep saying he was showing love. No. Telling people NOT to let struggling students, some of them suicidal, know that they are a safe spot, that they are supportive and that they are an ally, is HATEFUL! There is no other word for it. It. Is. HATE! But round and round they go trying so hard to spin it as people not being faithful to the cult. Oaks and Holland both want it to go back to the way BYU was during their reigns. The funniest thing is that their rhetoric just creates more allies, not fewer. Because it brings to light how badly it’s needed. The sad thing is that the really vulnerable students, the ones trying the hardest to be faithful so that they can overcome their “challenge” become less likely to seek out those allies because they internalize their own self hate even more. But to Jeff & Co. their deaths are just collateral damage in his war on tolerance and love.

the deprivation and suffering of the MORmON members has always been a detail along the way of the exalted MORmON leadership getting whatever they want.

Like students are not going to hear about what a Prophet of God is saying to their professors about the Valedictorian who came out as gay in a speech at their graduation last year, where they were subjecting kids like him electroshock therapy until recently?

How long ago was it for you?
It was about 38 years ago for me.
And I didn't bother doing the math until 20 years ago.
I think the reason I didn't do the math was because I looked around me at all these men in the temple, Engineers, Doctors, Dentists, Lawyers, all of them Eagle Scouts, every one of them stand up citizens, who I know really well, they were all doing it and they wouldn't do it if it was that stupid.

But the thing is, that's what they said to themselves.
And that's what the people before them said to themselves, and so on and so forth and pretty soon it's like you're the kid in the Plato's Cave going, hey, uh, you know that's not real, right?

Holland said something about use your intellectual abilities to defend your beliefs. Isn't that what we are all doing? Picking up our intellectual muskets. I'm not quite getting why it's ok for dissenters (which is all of us) to say whatever we want and not ok for them...

What I see is that there is a force that wants to silence anyone who disagrees with radical agenda. They use fear and coercion to do it and most of the time refuse to engage in open debate, they know they'll lose or have the wrong argument so they resort to name calling and tears. I say let everyone express their opinion in the open market of ideas. Pulverize the pathetic weak arguments.
