Yes. All that research looking for it, limited geography, etc..to NOT attempting to locate at all.

after all, hasn't the book been demoted to only a 'guide to faith' instead of accurate history?

My TBM-to-the-Max mother used to get together with a little group that was fixated on where the Book of Mormon lands would be. Apparently not content to leave the task up to Rodney Meldrum, they were sure if they could figure that out, then they could rescue the Book of Mormon from it's perilous position of being absurd adjacent.

I mean, Zarahemla has to be somewhere? Right?

Does the church still promote the book of mormon? Seems like a failed product that has zero respect from real historians. They have to pay BYU staff to believe in it.
