The church is like a tractor pull. When our kids were young they wanted to go to a monster truck rally. At the end of the event they had a tractor pull. These were no ordinary tractors. They had multiple big block blown engines running on racing fuel.

They would rev up their engines and pull a sled that would move the weight forward as it moved. This made it harder to pull the trailer.

Anyways all engines are full out, the noise is shaking the venue, flames are shooting out of the exhaust pipes but no matter how much power there is the tractor bogs down and spins it’s wheels in the dirt. Sometimes an engine blows or something else breaks but the driver has the throttle all the way up.

The church has a lot of power and fuel but it’s bogged down. It’s got hundreds of billions of dollars in assets. It’s got all the tools money can buy and Russ has the throttle all the way up. The church still is going nowhere and things might even blow and break. One thing for sure, the church makes a lot of noise. Look at us! Yeah. I see you. You really are digging a big hole spinning your tires.

Good analogy

You could also use this analogy for individual members, the harder you work and more "worthy" you become the harder it is to keep it up.

Inevitably leading to burning out/stalling/engine ripping out of your chest.

Seriously, these videos are awesome

Sometimes like a gold tooth pull. Baby needs a new temple.

Provo is going to lose it’s mothership. Someone at the church building department told me they remodeled the Ogden temple because nobody wanted to get married there because the building was so ugly.

The church could have a fleet of mobile temples- tricked out RVs.

Not my idea, but someone pitched this idea years ago. They could do all their handshaking-footsy hokey pokey in different RVs. The celestial could have comfortable lazy boy recliners.

They could have a patio area in the middle and sell 5 dollar hot dogs and cokes. Be a real money making venture.

And they could start having ward tire drives- Hey those rear tires are getting worn. Give the Parksville 5th Ward a call as we need new treads.

The church looked into having a temple on a ship. They nixed the idea because ships require maintenance and inspections.
