Thanks for your concern. Nope, I'm in good shape--even have two would-be suiters who live on either side of me, albeit one is already married (but didn't let that stop him from sending me a dozen flowers).
The other one--on the other side of my house--is a certifiable jerk!, who lives with his family. I even had to call the police to warn him to stop harnessing me, as he knocked on my side kitchen door at 6:00AM! Haven't heard from him since. :)
I have a car protector roof outside my kitchen door. The fun stuff is that a Mrs. Bird has chosen this area to raise her chicks. It appears she does so by (hardly) never leaving the nest she worked so hard to provide. Can you image how many trips she had to make to go back and forth, until she had enough twigs to make the nest?
She is almost always sitting on her eggs (waiting for them to hatch). Of course, I have never seen a "father" for these eggs, as the female has to "go" it alone--including feeding her chicks--which she does by sticking her beak full of food into their little mouths. Just think (if you will), how many trips, back and forth, to get enough twigs to build her nest, and then still have enough strength to do her job.
