Probably nothing unique, but when I was in college, at BYU, a number of cousins and friends and I decided to go down to the Manti Temple to see a live session. As a TBM group back then, we were actually excited to experience it live. Most of us were from CA, so we had never seen a live session.

Literally, for weeks beforehand, we wondered what it would be like. How would they portray Adam and Eve? Would they be behind a hedge, like the movie? Would they be in a swimsuit, partially hidden behind the hedge?

Would they be young like the movie?

So many questions.

Well, needless to say, we ALL almost died when an 80 year old Adam and Eve trotted out, in suits/etc., not looking anything like what we had envisioned. We almost all started laughing.

And then, to top it all off, Jesus forgot his line in one part, and Satan had to prompt him on his line!!! We still laugh about it to this day, as we all wanted to shout out to Jesus, "don't take any advice from Satan! He's trying to deceive you."

I'm the only one from all of my cousins/friends who is now out of the church, after seeing the lies and hypocrisy that the church has tried so hard to bury. It still amazes me that people stay in, with the HUGE list of lies and propaganda that the church has tried to push as the dominant narrative.

There's no way to hide from the truth now!

The same thing happened to me when I saw a live session. Eve fell asleep. The thought of those geezers boinking to populate the world was not pleasant.

Used to go to Mani and SLC both, mainly for the live sessions. Much more entertaining than the cheezy movies.

Best one was SLC where they were all in an Acting Group. Stage plays. They were really good - and even with Satan having a heavy Scandanavian accent it was worth it.

Parts were played with feeling and interpretation. No one napped throught that one.

Yeah they had their shit together at the Salt Lake Temple. Not so much at the Idaho Falls one.

My first session was a live one. I thought,”What the hell?”. What a freak show.

Adam lost his teeth while standing at the stop of the stairs. I was part of a geriatric group playing all the roles.

I couldn't stop laughing as it was handed from person to person back to the top.

I was escorted to another room and told to cool it, that the temple is too sacred for levity.

It was funny as hell and I coughed a lot to keep quiet.

My endowment was at the Oakland temple in 1965. I sat in a huge auditorium listening to a tape recording. No movie, no live "actors" -- just disembodied voices in a big, dimly lit room full of strangers. My fiance was there but seated with all the other bakers, of course, and I had no family with me. The temple people knew that it was my first time but they did not supply an escort. So I was essentially totally alone and lost. It really was basically at awful experience.

I attended a live session at the SLC temple as a TBM. I still remember the goofy old guy who played Satan. He said his lines in a monotone, bored, disengaged manner.
I preferred the hot Eve and bad boy looking Satan they had in the movies.
Was Eve hot? Or am I over-romanticizing the experience?

I avoided the live sessions, they took hours, moving from room to room. I found that if I went to the Jordan River Temple, arrived just around 5 P.M., quickly dressed, and speed walked to the waiting room, then you had about a two minute wait to enter the next session. I always went alone, to keep on schedule, and I would snooze during the film since they dimmed the lights.

All in all, I was in and out in less than two hours, including driving in and out of the parking lot.

This way I kept everybody happy, the wife, the bishop, and the clerks who had to check off all those boxes. At the time it was a win, win for me.

Mike-Archangel was staid the day the earth was made
But he came back to report
And Jump, Gordon was there in toga underwear
H Ghost was the invisible man
Then something went bam for Eve and Adam
They got caught in a fruity jam
Then at a deadly pace they came from celestial space
And this is how the message ran:
BS Fiction, Double Feature
Elohim will build a creature
See Stan tempting Eve and Adam
No other people, in the plan
Oh-oh at the late night, double feature, made-up show.

Great. Now I'll spend the rest of the day trying to rewrite 'The Time Warp' with references to open ponchos, throat-slittling, disembowelment and pay lay ale.

I'm sure you'll all be shivering with antici............................................................................................"Say it!"...................pation.

As soon as the Manti temple closes for remodeling, live sessions are toast. It will be a big part of LDS crazy I will never forget.

Of the many (far too many) endowment sessions I attended, I only had the “opportunity” to attend a live session once. It was in Manti, probably 1979, for the marriage of a mission friend. A truly strange experience that I hadn’t recalled for years.

Not that anybody cares, but a session runs just under an hour nowdays- pure slide show with narration.

Remember that Manti and SLC both had Dinosaurs in the wall murals in the World room.

Both also have/had Holy of Holies rooms - supposedly no one but the Prophet goes in.

So - Who cleans them?

Lol at Jesus missing his lines. Sounds about right as that guy was Mr. Mia growing up. I used to call Jesus Mr. Mia as he defended no children from abuse in that operation and i hate to admit that that included myself as one of the undefended by Jesus or Mr. Mia forgeter of his lines or slow to remember or respond. Whatever you wish to call the guy haha. Yea, i guess my jesus issues are still not resolved sorry Ziller haha.

And yes, as young college students when we "went down" for this live session in Manti, we were all eager to see a young, hot, beautiful Eve. That was part of the shock of seeing her---
"what do you mean, Eve is 80 years old? What the Hell is going on here?"
