Can't get an official language designated, why do you think Christian Nationalism is going to fly?

Recent supreme court holdings on abortion, prayer in schools, and the denial of commercial services based on sexual orientation indicate that Christian Nationalism is already flying.

I don’t, but about 30% of my Country thinks that’ll fix everything wrong with America and they’re wrestling for control of the GOP, which is hilarious, because the other half of the party (CULT) thinks Trump is the 2nd Coming of Jesus and don’t need Jesus competing with Trump.

A declaration could easily be considered same / equal to to resolution which is a For Show Only recognition of someone or something, by & of itself not significant, but we all know the Right Wing-Nuts will pick up & run with it, no boundaries, no guardrails as we learned starting on 1/20/17

"IN GOD WE TRUST". Such a simple and elegant motto. It just rolls off the tongue. Could not be more poetic if it were actually true.

Unfortunately it replaced,”E Pluribus Unim” out of many, one, as our National Motto, during the Red Scare in the 50’s. I thought the original motto was better, since it unified us, instead of dividing us between God believers and non-believers. But I didn’t get a vote. And nobody asked me for my opinion. Of course I wasn’t even born in 1956.

As evangelicals don't consider mormons as christian it may make things interesting for those that were going to save the constitution on their white horses.

So true, Mormons would be in for a shock if evangelicals got their way, as they would find out that they would be considered non-Christians and therefore just as bad as those from other religions, as well as atheists.

“Christian Nation”= Gilead

It’s going to look a lot like Iran, only with red hijabs instead of black and men dressed in head to toe Red with Punisher Logos in American Flag motif, driving XL pickup Trucks, with a lot of flags, to beat up cops with.

The Mormons are already mainstreaming. A young Mormon recently wrote online that there is no heavenly mother and never was. It was a lie, he said, concocted by anti-Mormons.

Either that mormon is on the road to apostasy, or there have been a lot of mormon leaders over the past 192 years who were actually anti-mormons.

"Zina D. H. Young recalled asking Joseph Smith whether she would see her mother again following her mother’s death in July 1839. Smith replied affirmatively and added, “More than that, you will meet and become acquainted with your eternal Mother, the wife of your Father in Heaven.” Further, David McKay (father of David O. McKay) reported a conversation he had with Snow while driving her from Huntsville to Eden, Utah. He asked whether Snow learned of a Mother in Heaven by revelation from God. She responded, “No,” and explained that her inspiration had come from Joseph Smith’s teachings."

What are they teaching young mormons today?

That's impossible according to mormon doctrine. Without a heavenly mother, there's literally no point to the celestial kingdom, and no reason for temples or temple marriage at all.

What does this young mormon think women do in the CK for eternity? Binge-watch the latest episodes of "As the Universe Turns"?

Yet these are the same folks who also claim they don't like the Constitution to be changed. How do they reconcile these two beliefs?

By misunderstanding the constitution.

I find it funny how many people think certain things are in the Constitution, that are not. I always get a laugh when I hear that we have a right to "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness". That phrase does not exist in the Constitution. It does in the Declaration of Independence, but it is not a right guaranteed by the Constitution. The Declaration of Independence is just that, and that alone, a declaration of independence from Great Britain. It is not a governing document.

Well the Christians better get to fuckin. They better keep all the women they can pregnant and each woman needs to pop out as many children as possible. Got to build the numbers to have political control.

Gee. This sounds like Brigham Young's Utah.

The fastest reproducing cohort in the United States is Christian: Latinos.

Perhaps "Christian" isn't the operative word in the phrase "Christian Nationalists."

University of Maryland conducted the study that showed 61% of GOP supports declaring America a Christian Nation.

https://criticalissues.umd.edu/sites/criticalissues.umd.edu/files/American%20Attitudes%20on%20Race%2CEthnicity%2CReligion.pdf

Politico put it at 80%.

Got better stats from better sources?

I know polls have been screwed up ever since 2016, because People tend to lie to random pollsters.
Usually people are somewhat embarrassed to admit they support something that’s a complete lie, completely unconstitutional and renders the entire concept of Jefferson’s secular experiment in democracy meaningless, but not today.
A large percentage of Republicans are still supportive of a former President, who is being investigated for every crime under the sun. One of them is bound to be successful at revealing the truth, right?

What does ‘truth’ even mean to those in a CULT?

Why not call it what it really is, White Nationalism?

the opposite of Socialism.
Its socialism for the rich (white) people which the poor (non-whites) get to pay for by working like slaves for a meager living.

Kinda like a monarchy, only in the 21st C.

"The responses also exposed deep generational divides: A majority of Americans born before 1964 who responded to the poll said they support declaring the U.S. a Christian nation, while just a quarter of millenials and 34 percent of Gen Z respondents said the same."

I find it very interesting that Gen Z is a whole 9 points higher than my generation. Why is that? How did that happen?

Gen Z kids are between 10 and 25 years old. Most are still young and operating under their parents morae's. I am personally ashamed of my Gen (X'ers). We have had the longest exposure to the Boomers and should be well aware of how flawed they are as a group.

In a related story, Steve Bannon speaking for / appealing to Rs has voiced his / the republican plan to flood the internet & other outlets with rumors & falsehoods to skew the counting results since they KNOW they can't / won't win a free, fair, & accurate election....

Democracy / our representative form of governing - government is Indeed hanging by a thread.
