I found this fascinating and also I didn't have anything in it I couldn't understand unlike most of the math posts here.

https://www.quantamagazine.org/the-new-math-of-wrinkling-patterns-20220922/

I love the butterfly effect and for me this seems it's inverse. The wrinkle in math effect. Folding space somehow isn't random.

Maybe I'm just getting older and wanting wrinkles to be cool.

these are feels ziller has held b 4 ~

ok ~

so ~

the other day ziller was taping a bunch of newpaper articles and stuff ~

to make a page that ziller could xerox™ for his monthly newsletter mail-out ~

welp ~

the wrinkles in the paper and tape made it dang near impossible for the paper to lay flat on the xerox copy glass ~

so ziller grabbed one of the wives ankle weights and used that to make the paper flat enough to make a xerox phot-copy for the newsletter ~

it turned out rilly well ~

I'm glad order in the universe was restored for you ziller. No prayer needed but just a helpful object.

The wrinkle is on my forehead when trying to understand BoJ's Math[s] post.

It's the recurring math effect - every time I encounter numbers or calculations above basic the result is wrinkly.

Well if you read this article it won't cause you any wrinkles.

>> Maybe I'm just getting older and wanting wrinkles to be cool. <<

When I was at BYU in the mid - late 80's I played in an oldies band (The Desoto's). We went to a local studio to record a demo and the previous guy that was there recording did children's music. The guy that owned the studio was playing back one the songs and the chorus was "everybody gets wrinkles, wrinkles" etc.

I remember thinking to my self "so that's what I have coming."

Haven't thought about wrinkles in that context for a long time, even though I see them everyday in the mirror.

But I figure if everyone gets them, how can they NOT be cool?

Some people make everything they do "cool."

But you have to know it's cool before it actually becomes cool.

How cool is that?

The more wrinkles, the few opportunities for romance.

I've been told man wrinkles are sexy but I guess it depends on where in their anatomy.

True. You never know what surprises you will find in those wrinkles...like crumbs from dinner or cat hair.

A good thing is that the eyes go bad with age too. This maybe helps by making the wrinkles not look so bad.

:-D
