Well, that's not exactly what he said.  He said he'd never seen his wife naked.  I, also, have not seen Sis. Petersen naked!

Yes, I was stretching it somewhat. But given his extreme mormonosity, coupled with off-the-charts prudishness, it seems reasonable to think that he'd never seen a nude female body at all (especially not live and in the flesh).

In any case, it's always appropriate to dump on Petersen whenever possible, simply because he was such a world-class jackass.

I notice that the article said, "[He] decided" and "He told her" instead of "they decided." Her Mormon indoctrination to be a docile, obedient wife didn't end well for her.

So the indoctrination to be an obedient wife worked, but the indoctrination about modesty didn't? How did she forget that part? Sounds like a bit of stupid to me.

My wife was 'indoctrinated' to be obedient, but I can't even get her to strip in front of me, even when I invoke the power of the priesthood that is so oppressive to women.

In other words, it depends on personalities. Most TBM women I know only obey what they want to obey.
