Amorite is a northwestern semitic language from the third millennium BCE. It was spoken from the west side of the Euphrates all the way to the Mediterranean.

It was also spoken in the second millennium BCE in the hill country of Canaan. In fact, Hebrew developed out of Amorite; and the Bible uses the terms Canaanite and Amorite more or less interchangeably.

I haven't a clue whether the tablets EB describes were Amorite or not, but it's surely possible since that people and the Akkadians were in close contact for a millennium or two, and at a couple of points Amorites controlled Mesopotamia--meaning that during those periods they ruled over Akkadians. A bilingual "dictionary" would therefore be perfectly sensible.
