"The Eagle Lake Police received a call regarding a domestic assault at a residence on Wednesday, February 1st, around 7:30 PM. Upon arriving, the officers could hear loud shouting coming from inside the home, the probable cause statement indicates.

The victim informed the police that while they were returning home from a bar with Natalie Bruemmer, she started hitting him and spitting on him. Upon reaching their home, Bruemmer is alleged to have struck the victim on the back of his head with a whole chicken.

When the police officers talked to the victim, they observed that he still had chicken remains in his hair.

As for the bird, it was likely not frozen because if so there wouldn't have been any bird particles in the guy's hair, you wouldn't think. So, it was either fresh or unfrozen, we can likely agree. Not that it makes any difference to the bird - it's still no longer alive. Nor to the man, because ewww that was gross anyway. Not to mention, likely somewhat painful. And maybe embarrassing in front of the cops.

Now, after we've delved so deeply into the nitty gritty of this relatively minor incident, church leaders (were they reading!) may get a better idea about why we're former members - because we definitely parse the details.

In my case, I wish I'd done more of that *before* hitting the Mormon dunk tank.

The notion of picking the remains of a previously live bird from a man's hair is certainly upsetting, but I agree with you that that's probably not what happened.

The article said that the bird was inside the house before the assault, which suggests it was either frozen or thawed food. The fact that it was also described as "whole" likewise suggests that it was food rather than a live bird.

I admit, however, that NG's post brought a smile to my face.

Apparently there are a lot of Norwegians in Seattle, too. I heard the exclamation "Uff da" over the radio or in casual conversations a lot. I still use it, though I haven't lived there in forty-something years.

If the chicken was instead used for santeria, the story would be on topic. Hitting the babalawo with a dead chicken could be part of the ritual. This is why religion should be left to professionals.
