The Bible makes it very clear that the Jews are God's chosen people. If you can't beat 'em---join 'em.

Otherwise they have to admit to be at best--runners up.

We reciprocate by offering to let Jews into our Celestial Kingdom.

We are such mensches.

The Mormon / LDS cup o details runneth over, this is just another example of hiding the pea.

In other news, 'Mormon Doctrine' is a complete joke.

There are two parts to this.

First in the old days, the church believed that only gods chosen people would accept the gospel. That each person that agreed to baptism had at least some blood of Israel in them.

Members gathered in Zion and were fulfilling the prophecy of the gathering of Israel.

Second. As the church spread globally and no longer encouraged members to gather in one place, it became apparent that people without Israelite blood were accepting the gospel and thus needed to be adopted into the Israelite nation.

I'm not sure the church teaches the literal gathering of Israel anymore.

Their logic on that makes more sense for converts. What about kids who are born into it? Morgbots always claim that their children are making the decision to be baptized, but we know that is a crock. I certainly didn't have a choice. Children are either so brainwashed that they really 'think' they want to do it, or are too afraid of the repercussions if they said they didn't want to.

Aren't they still having children memorize the articles of faith? It's in number 10.

Why do Mormons believe in adoption into tribes of Israel?

Because they're a tribal organization. Everyone wants to join the coolest tribe that God likes best! The OT is all about tribalism.

Humans at their lizard brain level form tribes so they know how to classify everyone (friend or threat).

"Mom, how come we couldn't be Ephriamites?

"Oh, just hush up and eat your frijoles before they get cold!"

Yes, the White folk got the better of the two tribes that replaced Levi and Joseph.

Are you happy now?

But the Ephraimites fully believe in treating their lessers well, as long as they don't get too close.

BTW, it is Israel (Ees'-rah-el, not Iz'-ree-ul) and Ephraim (Eff'-rah-eem, not Ee'-free-um)

It’s all about being the chosen people. Mormons even call non-members gentiles. Latter-Day Saints. The chosen people of this dispensation.
