Often we post disparaging remarks about the mighty mormon church, myself included. Is there a danger of litigation from Kirkland-McConkie if those postings cross a line?

Personally, I view the church as a lifetime bully and deep down I get some degree of satisfaction when it is held accountable for it's bullying behaviors.

Where is the line? I don't want to attract anything that leads to Judge Judy, but I am willing to walk right up to that line and even step on it a little.

I think we have a right to an opinion.

If I walk into a church on Sunday and I feel that the people inside are not very hospitable, then I am free to express and share that experience.

Conversely, I can share a positive experience too, just as I did when I went to the temple open house. I said the members were friendly.

Where the church can get it's law firm involved. Suppose you have business dealings or interviews where NDA or another legal binding contract is signed, then you would have to keep your mouth shut.

The board admin will generally pull anything that could lead to legal troubles including copyright violation, which is a big one. Facts and opinions are fine. Accusations against public figures as reported by the media are generally fine.

When we affirm the deep-seated *feeling* that the mormon church is not the product of a meeting between JoJu, Elohim, and Elohim's son, Jehovah (alias Jesus H. Christ), we risk being sued by mormonism for defamation of JoJu's character, not to mention risking JoJu's ire, given that no man will reach the Celestial Kingdom without first being approved by JoJu.

I want a ring-side seat when he reviews Gladys Lot's life and times...  I'm hoping JoJu runs the unexpurgated video!!

Yes, but: K-M has shown that they are willing and able to destroy anybody they want regardless of the legality of their attacks. And most of our loved ones will be 100% in agreement. I honestly believe it will get very bad very soon. I hope it doesn't, but I fear the worst.

"Legimate" is not always appropriate when it comes to corportare media. Not only do major outlets distort and lie about certain events, but they also get their content from several press agencies. They do little original investigative journalism and have a narrow range of content. Citizen journalism is an essential part of a healthy democracy and has been sidelined in the last few years because it has gotten in the way of certain projects. It should not be untruthful or defamatory, but it should also not have to go for approval by some commissariat like Snopes etc.

The question was about how RfM works. I gave the answer. Your broader point is your own business and your own problem.
