The GA's 'have to be in on it':

* they seem to have no conscience about the way that they pick & choose who will be disciplined for harming others.

As I have written before (sorry if you've read this before!)

They knowingly ratified, condoned, excused & approved an hate & greed motivated, deceitful divorce done by my (now) former wife (ex sounds mean to me).

* Little or no focus on Honesty or Kindness, even the commandments of Forgiving & Repentance (sincere repentance requires restoration-return of things wrongfully taken, per both Bible & LDS scriptures); Basic, Core, Christ-like examples-teachings are plainly AWOL with ChurchCo.

I surmise that 'some' of them might have regrets the way that the gospel (tm) is used as a Wedge against another (spouse & family included). but Really? For a while I thought that Uchtdorf might somewhat 'get it' and work to turn things around, but Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

How do they sleep at night, I'm asking?

Plausible Deniability.

GA will blame area leadership.

Area leadership will blame stake leadership.

Stake will blame ward leadership.

Ward leaders will claim they didn't know.

Anytime I tried to bring anything forward I was referred and deflected and lied to time and time again.

Abuse I called the cops, two cities over.

Theft of church property and money? Screw em, if they can't hold onto it, they deserved to lose it.

I would wager that they all know that it's bunk. And they do it because of pure greed.

Fame: Some people seek to be noticed, adored, worshiped, an idolized at ANY cost.

Fortune: There is money floating around at the top, easy money. Free medical, free travel, free education for children, butlers & cooks, drivers, etc.

I have wondered if I would sell my soul for the chance to be taken care of for life. I would hope not, but only the shadow knows.

None of it is free. Someone else always pays.

It comes from a system where people obey "experts" without question.

Maybe so, but many of the exmos here also obey "experts" without question.

My feeling is that it's all emotional manipulation. Fawning members are a form of narcissistic supply for those who need it. I would find it kind of creepy. Those who let themselves be manipulated are part of the problem, but it's not their fault for having blinders put on them.

Which exmos & which experts, brad?

Humans are not rational beings. They build their belief systems to support their emotional lives. So technically, most of us left because we were offended. Maybe offended at the lying and manipulation, but still offended.

It's not that we are different from Mormons, it's just that we were fortunate enough to have our Mormon worlds ripped apart.

There are few better reasons to leave an organization than being offended by its values and conduct.
