ChurchCo takes some degree of pleasure if not pride in publishing the ENSIGN magazine, I’m curious, just a bit, as to which gems of wisdom are found inside.
This info might be available to a RfMember ‘pert member’ (UGH!)family or household.
A month or so ago, I got the BYU College of Sciences Magazine in the mail since I can't seem to get off their alumni mailing list.
You'd think it would be full of huge important scientific research given the size of the university and the money they have. Instead the magazine was more like the old Ensign.
Almost every darn article in it seemed to be more about faith, with occassional service or study abroad pap. The article about one of the professors was about her faith. The bulk of the magazine was about the huge building they built for the sciences. The magazine was embarrassing compared to other science department university magazines. I hope BYU can get better returns on their investments in science in the future. Faith is not a great way to do scientific research, IMO.
I recall the predecessor "Improvment Era' which was packed with ads for LDS related kitsch items, even printing fir Wedding Invites bc 'Prices are Low in Idaho' SHEESH !
people in one lds location wanting to undercut those where other Mormons live, mostly Utah back then...
