You can ignore reality all you want, but reality isn't going to ignore you.


No one says you can't have religious beliefs, but denying life saving medical treatment for ideological or other reasons is wrong.

BRISBANE, Australia -- Two bereaved parents and 12 fellow members of an Australian religious congregation accused of killing an 8-year-old girl by withholding her diabetes medication were found guilty on Wednesday of manslaughter.

Elizabeth Rose Struhs died on Jan. 7, 2022 at her family’s home in Toowoomba in Queensland state after six days without her prescribed insulin shots for type-1 diabetes.

Her father, Jason Richard Struhs, 53, and the leader of the family’s religious group called “The Saints,” Brendan Luke Stevens, 63, had been charged with the more serious crime of murder, but Queensland Supreme Court Justice Martin Burns found both guilty of her manslaughter.

Burns also found another 12 members of the congregation, including the victim’s mother, Kerrie Elizabeth Struhs, 49, and the victim’s bother Zachary Alan Struhs, 22, guilty of manslaughter. No one charged escaped conviction.

All 14 were remanded in custody to appear in court for sentencing on Feb. 11. Each faces a potential maximum sentence of life in prison.

Footage of a killer father’s baptism into his family’s fringe church congregation in the months before he caused the death of his daughter by withdrawing her lifesaving insulin has been revealed – with the congregation breaking out into a bizarre song over the act.

The mobile phone clip can be revealed following the conviction of Jason Richard Struhs and 13 others over the death of Elizabeth Struhs in early 2022.

The eight-year-old girl, who had diabetic ketoacidosis, was denied her lifesaving insulin for several days by Mr Struhs and her mother, Kerrie Elizabeth Struhs.

Imagine allowing a child (or anybody) to suffer like this for a WEEK... only to then die from a preventable condition:

“Diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious complication of diabetes.

“The condition develops when the body can't produce enough insulin. Insulin plays a key role in helping sugar — a major source of energy for muscles and other tissues — enter cells in the body.

“Without enough insulin, the body begins to break down fat as fuel. This causes a buildup of acids in the bloodstream called ketones. If it's left untreated, the buildup can lead to diabetic ketoacidosis.”


“Diabetic ketoacidosis symptoms often come on quickly, sometimes within 24 hours. For some, these symptoms may be the first sign of having diabetes. Symptoms might include:

Being very thirsty

Urinating often

Feeling a need to throw up and throwing up

Having stomach pain

Being weak or tired

Being short of breath

Having fruity-scented breath

Being confused”


"Symptoms of diabetic ketoacidosis “include excessive thirst, frequent urination, nausea and vomiting, stomach pain, weakness or fatigue, shortness of breath, fruity-scented breath, and confusion.”

“Remember, untreated diabetic ketoacidosis can lead to death.”
