She goes to BYU and pays tithing to other organization's and not the LDS church. She will graduate this year. Here is the problem the current bishop wants her to repay her tithing to the lds church he is not giving her the ecclesiastical endorsement that she needs for BYU. Now she wants to talk to the stake president about how the bishop treated her. She wants to transfer her membership record to a family ward and she thinks that the new bishop will write her an ecclesiastical endorsement for BYU. Are any former BYU students on here? Can anyone tell her that the bishop and stake presidents will back each other up? Her silliness might make her not graduate this year. She is so cute yet so naïve. She reminds me of myself and I want to help her before it is too late.

another Q: Currently, can 'your' MP issue an EE for a (honorably discharged) mish who might go directly to YBU?

NO, this doesn't effect me or any of my kin.

The cheapest option might be for her to pay a token (but somewhat believable) amount in back tithing. That way she can finish her last semester and earn her degree.

It's a life lesson for her. The Mormon church does not care and is not terribly interested in genuine charity.

Summer, I have had so many bad experiences with talking to bishops and stake presidents that I hope this woman will not talk to the stake president. The tithing rule is clear in the LDS church 10% needs to be paid to the CHURCH and not anywhere else. I keep checking tiktok for an update if she has talked to the stake president. My own out got pregnant while she was not married at BYU and she got expelled. BYU takes rules very serious.

Sell them on ebay & fb...

Lol true.

What upsets me so much about this is that a bishop would never say that to a man that he should loose weight to find a spouse. Even when the husband is unfaithful many times to wives gets blamed for it for not fulfilling his needs.

Yes, it's a very misogynistic faith.

This has been a long standing policy for over 100 years.

Tithing only counts if given to the corporation.

I've got books going back to the late 1800s and this question pops up from time to time and the answer is always the same.

Assuming she is not TBM, she should try to pay a nominal fee and say that represents the meager income that she has earned and thus represents her tithing. Going to a stake president or another ward will simply complicate things.

Here is what I am supposed to do and do it zealously in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Read all I can on this & then go and expose the person. And they'll be eternally grateful how I screwed over their mortal life to get them back on the path to eternal bliss in this wondrous gospel of pours. So, I got to emphasize that doing this will be all done in the name of Jesus Christ who is the ruler over all that the mighty Holy Nelson and his overlords on earth do in this wondrous Kingdom of peculiar people.

However, I couldn't possibly have time to do this due to all the busywork that my overlords for the mighty holy Nelson have me doing that keep me too busy to be too much of a busybody on the lives of others. And I'm way behind on my member missionary work nagging all my neighbors to get themselves assimilated and to get all my ancestors dead dunked at the temple as they are right now rotting away in their Spirit Prison cells due to my slothfulness.

Contact a non LDS newspaper or TV station with your story. Corporation does not like any negative publicity.

Some replies on her video

"My second bishop said from the pulpit that if we (YSA aged students) didn’t stay for second hour that our endorsements would be revoked"

"babes I have NEVER heard of a bishop trying to “fix” this in this way. Go talk to your Stake Pres! Also!! Meetings going forward, you’re allowed to have someone else with you when meeting!!!"

"As your tuition is subsidized by tithing- while people may make this decisions elsewhere-he may feel paying tithing to the Church is important given this"

"We all make our own religious choices and judgements. But belief wise, if you are a member and choosing to attend and receive member subsidized discounts tithing is defined clearly as paid to the Church. How one defines their interest is certainly more open to interpretation"
