You don't think the church would calculate the gains derived from your hard-earned tithing and give you a cut? I mean, it's not like some kind of religious mafia.
A dividend would suggest to me they aren't a company focused on growth and can dole out their earnings. They could lure new shareholders...err, I mean members.
Can you imagine them sending out 1099-DIV forms?
Maybe they could send out checks signed with the prophet's signature in bold print so people would know who to thank.
Would the dividend be exempt from taxes?
Maybe everyone should be able to buy shares of the LDS busni-church. They seem like they are mostly an investment holding company anyway.
Thanks to the magic of religion getting special treatment, their business gets an extra boost. Something tells me they would spend the money on hostile takeovers before giving dividends though.
PS: Give more money to Jesus. Corporate boardmembers aren't cheap.
