Every talk will be a recounting of the speakers' immediate spiritual encounter with Jesus. Every talk will express how incredibly ecstatic they felt at the moment when they accepted Jesus into their hearts and thereby received a remission of all their sins. Note that they will never, ever say what those sins actually are (like lying to the SEC or making young missionaries feel like sh!t). No, the whole point is that you, the listener, needs to be amazed and awe-struck at the incredible spirituality of the church hierarchy because they had those experiences and you didn't so shut up and continue to subsidize our lifestyles.

I'm taking bets now.

Maybe they will wish him a Happy Birthday in the Sunday sessions since that will be April 6.

All of the guys will be wearing business suits.

Why reserve cosplay for the temple? They should all wear robes at Gen Con. Rusty could declare it the new formal attire. Hooded monk robes and long flowy beards would be a cool new look for the church.

My money is on you. Nailed it.

" . . . because they had those experiences and you didn't so shut up . . . " That says it all.

Jesus' middle name will be revealed when the "sealed portion" is opened & the 10 tribes come forward.

Amen!

"Every talk will express how incredibly ecstatic they felt at the moment when they accepted Jesus into their hearts and thereby received a remission of all their sins"

All their sins? How many sins are these people committing?

Oh, lots and lots. But you are never allowed to ask them about any of them.

Tears will be shared with thousands. Using nonmember words will inspire. Conditionally enforced love will resonate in the choir's use of other people's tunes.

The restructuring of Jesus will conquer resurrection Jesus.

I'm wondering if they might say something to imply it is wrong to stand up against authority. With protests and such happening, church leaders maybe don't like the idea of people pushing back in loud public ways.

For example, what if someday them wimmen get loud about wanting equal rights in church? Don't give them any ideas. It's one thing to ask them to stand up against abortions or ERA, but quite another if they stand up for themselves.

IMO, Mormons are fairly passive and submissive though.

Just exactly When did this first occur to you, dagny?

Looking at a picture of the 1st Presidency, I’m thinking Weekend At Bernie’s with the judicious use of hidden wires.

Remission of sins happens at baptism according to Mormon doctrine. They will not contradict that. How about "my acceptance of Jesus softened my heart, and widened my understanding of the great..."?

It implied that they have accepted Jesus since their bday blessings.

They should sell indulgences. For a fee, you could be re-baptized to get your sins forgiven again.

They already do. It's called the Second Anointing. And it's all about being a super donor.

That "doctrine" is as permanent as any other "doctrine" spouted by them. It can vanish overnight.

Just read about the nationwide protests at the National Mall in D.C. and at every state capitol. Date April 5th.Saturday session of conference. Will Rusty postpone that day's session of conference and encourage everyone to participate in this protest?

Well, I don't think they'll be talking about saving the constitution as it hangs by a thread.

What if the leaders begin to swing back to Mormonism with the consent of Jesus.

I have been following trends of Exmo and TBMs and even a group of TBM apologists. While the Exmo content is fairly predictable, there seems to be pushback from years of "niceness ". That's how the die hard TBM men are describing about what is wrong with the LDS church, all while pretending that they support the Q15 when they really don't. Some people have pointed out a growing "manosphere " where it's time for priesthood leaders to lead and stop apologizing.

It's possible that Oaks may start steering the church back to certain Mormon cultural practices.
