Apostle Holland's son is the first Mormon to recognize Papal succession!

Loser congratulates winner?

Mormons kissing the Papal ring literally or figuratively. Who cares is right. Sure wouldn't have happened back in the day when Mormons were still Mormons and the Catholic church was still the "Great and Abominable Whore of all the Earth" as I heard often as a kid. Boy, my seminary teacher could go on with that one.

I remember years ago when Pope JP2 came to Edmonton and lots of non Catholics were organizing pilgrimages to see him...and I could never figure out why?...

There’s no way the church would have ever been able to build a large temple in Rome without selling out to The Vatican.

Or the Vatican staying bomb/invasion free from Germany in WWII without having signed an agreement before the war started.

The Reichskonkordat.

It was ratified 10 September 1933 and it remains in force to this day. The treaty guarantees the rights of the Catholic Church in Germany. When bishops take office, Article 16 states they are required to take an oath of loyalty to the Governor or President of the German Reich established according to the constitution. The treaty also requires all clergy to abstain from working in and for political parties.

Oaks called Rome the capital of Christianity. What a papist freak!

Surely you aren't implying that Oaks is sycophantic!

Did Rome send a representative to Thomas S. Monson's funeral.

Yes, Pope Francis sent a representative to the funeral of Thomas S. Monson, who was the president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Vatican representative attended the funeral services held in Salt Lake City.

Damn.

Yet another conspiracy theory crashes on the shoals of fact.

Ironic, eh?

So many Catholics in the world, most of them will never listen to the 'missionary discussions' (called that now???). On a % basis, I'm guessing that 'conversions' to MoMism from former Catholics are at the bottom % wise.

Do staunch RCs consider their parish priests as inspired or as conduits of 'God's Will'???

IDK how the RC church keeps members attending, paying, and coming back for more, but there's a lesson there somewhere.
