https://kutv.com/news/local/civil-lawsuit-accuses-byu-quarterback-jake-retzlaff-of-sexual-assault-brigham-young-university-cougars#

One local channel had it as breaking news on afternoon news. The LDS channel (KSL) didn't mention it until several other stories in the broadcast.

The most disturbing thing in the article is this

"...and the Provo police then encouraged her not to do anything because, as they claimed, 'sexual assault victims never get justice,'"

It will be interesting to see if BYU applies the honor code evenly. The average Peter Priesthood would be in trouble even if it were entirely consensual. Will the same hold true for the star quarterback?

No. It won't. BYU football players have a different "unspoken" standard at BYU. Let me emphasize "unspoken rule".

If a (provo) police officer actually said that, s/he ought to be FIRED on the spot, even if it was a BYU officer (are BYU officers commissioned by the state or county or city?)

Maybe if it's on body cam. Now, where is that footage?

I overlapped with Jim McMann (sic?). He had different rules. And the alcohol flowed freely at several of the coupe of football parties I found myself at.

I was attacked by a football player on my college campus. The police told me that he had attacked multiple women, and he was later convicted of raping an additional women. Some young men are just not used to hearing the word, "No."

I'm willing to guess that if Jake Retzlaff did this once, he may have done it more than once, and more women might come forward. Time will tell.

Is he guilty already?
