Wyoming says no to Utah right wing mormon school

If only Utah did. Oh wait, they're owned by Utah politicians, the friends and families. The even get to operate under different financial rules, legal rules and hiring rules than Utah public schools have to play by. Scammers and right wing bigots, the lot of them.

After the Cody, WY temple fiasco, the church is probably not a popular org in the state. Anything mormon-affiliated will receive a skeptical eye.

The church may win some battles, but even those victories will help to guarantee it loses the war.

Wyoming always has. The sad thing is this corrupt "school", which doesn't pass financial muster, and would be denied in most other States is allowed to exist and thrive in Utah, in spite of all the legal issues that they have. Mormons love crooks, as long as it's their crooks.

I'm glad that the town of Alpine turned away APA. My experience is that each school (public, charter, or private) needs to be judged on its own merits. Parents often think charters are better, but that's not necessarily the case.

Except in Utah, many of our lawmakers own, operate, manage and build Utah Charter schools. They've passed laws to protect their finances from the taxpaying public, lower teacher qualifications for Charter vs. Public Schools, ignore zoning laws and basically run them with impunity. They're all a bunch of crooks.

I doubt if a charter school there would have necessary resources to educate a learning-challenged or disabled student, so there's that..

That's a very good point. Even private and religious schools might not be equipped to handle more than a very mild learning disability. I was just discussing this with a parent yesterday who is looking at secondary school options for her child.

Am I the only one who...

thinks the parents of the students should have checked this out BEFORE moving there or having children?


If employed there, THE PARENTS SHOULD BE THE ONES WHO COMMUTE FROM HOME TO WORK, NOT CHILDREN TO SCHOOL M-F!!!

Well, housing. I can't imagine that Jackson is all that affordable. Both parents and children commute. It sounds like they will get their school, just not the dreadful Utah charter.
