It was the norm in the LDS culture of Southern California where I grew up.


Getting rich through grift.

That’s what countless adults in my childhood were about.

No wonder so many of their offspring followed in their footsteps.

It may work in terms of ‘net worth’ attained, but it cloaks its practitioners with permanent shame.

And try as they might, they can never truly deny nor run away from that.

I think that the tithe puts a lot of economic pressure on families. So you can have grift and other scams as a result. You also have a lot of shady things going on in Utah such as MLMs, supplement businesses, etc. The Mormon church looks the other way because it is still getting paid.

Its everywhere.

When it comes to money, the masses are trying every way they can come up with to swim through gold coins and paper bills like Scrooge McDuck.

Funny thing about money, it has no value. It is just a medium of exchange. The medium just changes with the circumstances. You can have a mattress full of 100 dollar bills. But with one catastrophic event that collapses society norms......its worthless and nothing more than toilet paper.

If Jesus does exist, he just sees the toilet paper side of things.

Human exchange is better but we never learn.

It's everywhere, but Utah is a special case. And IMO it's the pressure of the tithe that is the root cause.

It's not a coincidence that Utah County (Provo) is the scam, fraud and MLM Capitol of the USA.
