This is in Salt Lake County. Never in the 16 years in this house have they done that. I thought TSCC had stopped the house to house thing. Are they getting desperate? We did not answer the door. They rang the doorbell, stood there for a couple of minutes, pounded on the storm door and stood there another couple of minutes and finally walked down the steps and stood at the end of our driveway for about 5 minutes and finally walked away.

+ It's been 34 C in/around SLC, people walking around without water or access to sanitation? yup, that's Desperate with a Capitol D!

I live in rural Missouri and the other day I walked around and elder reading from the Scriptures to someone right outside the door into my gas station.

Pounded on your storm door? Waited around excessively? Did these young people not receive any parenting?

Seems rather excessive. Are you sure they weren't targeting you individually?
Someone could have reported you to the authorities.

I would agree with Phil.

Missionaries do not stand at the base of your driveway for 5 minutes if they are just killing time by knocking on doors. In that 10 minutes or so in my day we would have been a minimum of 10 houses down.

They stood there looking at their phones and looking up and down the street. They walked across the street and then headed down the street out of our view. They had been in our neighborhood the day before chatting up a couple that was sitting out on their porch about the same time of early evening. Maybe they have a quota of one house a day or something.

What? I'm calling BS. 16 years and no missionaries? In SL County? Impossible. We've lived here in South SL County for 22 years. Must've has 40 door knocks, at least 10 after I told them all to FO, I found the Bishop and told him to leave us alone. Then, every time they change bishops they start again. LDS Inc. paid me $150.00 after some dumbass missionary from Oklahoma ran over and broke a sprinkler head. No more missionaries for 3.5 years. Then some poor suckers were unfortunate enough to meet me. They don't understand polite "No". Or anything else but "Get the Hell off my property and if you come back, you're going to need an ER Doctor".

I know, right?? Now, we've had lots ride down the road on their bikes like they were on their way to a fire (or a baptism) but never saw them on foot until this week. Believe me, I was quite surprised about it because I really thought they had discontinued the door to door stuff.

I probably wouldn't have noticed, but my dogs went crazy. they were dressed nicely, but not in suits. They were here to talk about the local primary election. I didn't even know there was one coming up and who was running. Hyrum is rather small and I don't pay much attention.

As for how many times I've had missionaries at the door in the 38 years I've lived in this house--twice, three times at the most.
