https://nypost.com/2025/09/12/us-news/tyler-robinson-was-raised-mormon-and-killed-charlie-kirk-moments-after-he-praised-the-church/Excerpts:
"Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin Tyler Robinson was raised a devout Mormon — yet fired his fatal shot at Kirk just moments after the conservative influencer had glowingly praised the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
“I love how Mormons send missionaries around the world, I love how polite they are. … Half my team is Mormon,” Kirk, 31, said to huge cheers from the crowd at Utah Valley University moments before he was allegedly killed by the 22-year-old trade-school student.
“Mormons are great people. Let me just say, I’m an evangelical Christian, but I’m not one of those guys that hates on Mormons,” Kirk said."
-----
Sounds like the assassin may have had an issue with Mormons as well as who knows what/who else. (Many of us can relate but obviously and certainly not to this appalling extent).
Mormon leaders (unidentified) said:
"We affirm our repeated calls to seek peace and unity despite our differences.”

No matter what really, you can't logically blame a specific church or business or school or whatever body for some dreadful act that some random affiliate may do.
We can find reasons, though, re potential influences on a person. Not that that excuses the perp.
Although many of those who haven't experienced such negative influences may struggle to comprehend the negative effects of such, even if you try to explain it to them, even if they're interested and how many really are. Maybe some of the most major and/or dramatic ill effects are beyond comprehension to those who have not been inside the belly of whichever beast.
If I had a nickel for every time someone has told me to "just move on" after my double/triple dose of fundamentalist-style religion... And those are my friends - who know me - yet can't comprehend it - not that I want to spend a lot of time trying to explain it.
That can get a bit lonely.
But there's always RfM...etc.
