I don't remember the location. His voice got real soft and said "this is a bit of a secret - Robert Redford is taking the missionary discussions.' Of course every thing said by that charlatan was true.

LOL

That's the BEST way to keep a secret, whether Paul Dunn or anyone else: tell a few hundred mormons at a conference. <double facepalm>

His first wife was Mormon. A distant relative. But then again so are most pioneer heritage Mormons.

I had a poster of him in my apartment when I was at BYU. I think it was from his movie The Sting.
I appreciated his work as an environmental activist.

I also remember hearing lots of rumors about how he was sooooo interested in becoming Mormon.

Also today, Rick Davies, singer and founder of Supertramp died.
I loved the Logical Song.

That should make the final Sundance Film Festival held in Utah, next January/Feb especially poignant.

Sucky news week for Utah.

So just something to consider...what if we stop with the ongoing joke about people dying and telling Dave? Is it still funny or is it played out and predictable?

Or is it a treasured ritual?

That's a treasured ritual for you?

It is indeed a treasured ritual.

No it's not. It's our way of doing work for the dead. Perhaps we could put your sense of humor on the prayer roll?

So just something to consider...what if you stop reading threads that don't interest you?

No one thinks it is a joke. It is a public service announcement that gives us the opportunity to discuss/mourn someone. At times, honor their legacy or body of work.

I often come to RfM before checking the news.
It's nice to have a place to share a memory or thought about those passing on.

Maybe it's because I'm getting older and thinking more about d-day when you all will cease to exist. :-) Thanks in advance for entertaining me, BTW.
