Tribute to Tal Bachman?

World Idol winner (Kurt Nilsen) sings his new single, "She's So High"? In any event, this guy has a great voice. He sang Tal's song, did a great job. But the host of the show said it was his "new single".

"New" is a problematic term for stuff archived on the internet.

Tribute is not the word normally used. Songs get re-recorded by other artists all the time, and it is not uncommon for the cover to be more successful than the original recording. SHe's So High was a pretty big hit for Tal, but it was apparently a huge hit for Kurt in Norway.

Leaving on a Jet Plane did OK for John Denver. It is much more closely identified, however, with the Peter Paul and Mary version.
