How did a spammer get my email address?

I just checked my e-mail and got one as well. However, it was in my "spam" folder (I'm accessing my home e-mail from work) so I merely deleted it.

With a guy from Africa sitting in an internet cafe trying to scam you.

My mom got one. Exact same name and ever-thing.

But I didn't get one. Maybe they heard I eats trolls and spammers for protein snacks.

There are programs that work like search engines except they collect email addresses instead.

Looks like by having your email publicly listed on RFM it got picked up and you got spammed as a result.

that with the new software there were no addys on the board :) They must have done a harvest back before the switch over.

I got a spam PM over on FLAK from a Sister Roseline Peters asking to send money to Sierra Leone.

I am not registered as I can't get the exact moniker.

Therefore, you are now a friend of Judy. Send her an email. :-P

I just blocked and deleted. Obviously spam. Susan I/S says it must have been from the old board, because nothing is showing on this one.

My smart-alecky jewish friend told me, that if I don't like Spam, I should buy a kosher computer LOL. I just love my new spam filter! I got so tired of those web-crawlers.
