wanted to share with everyone how good it feels to be free of that crap. Now I want all of my money back (fat chance)

I think I will celebrate with a cup of coffee.

Not sure if I want to laugh or cry out loud. Today is a great day!!!!!

That letter is 'suitable for framing' to hang above the bar or in the garage. Happy Trails!

How long did it take. I sent mine in around Aug 1st. I think my former bishop is being an ass....

There was a reliable sounding report here a few months ago that head office policy now is to send out the final letter after 60 days even if the paperwork has not been returned from your "local ecclesiastical leaders". If you haven't heard anything by early October, give Member Records a jingle.

When my family resigned it took about 8 weeks total from the initial resignation letter to the official "you're out" letter.

Got mine about a month ago..yahoo! The Bishop or Stake President never called me at all... The Relief Society president called one time and I told her I was in the process of leaving the church..guess they knew I was done! I would be so interested to know exactly how many leave each year.

I think you're the first to post this happy news on the new board. A *huge^ milestone for you and also one for the new improved RfM.

I liked your description of how it feels to get your all-important freedom papers! : )

Congrats! It can take some nerve to resign. For some people it's easy, others not so much. Enjoy your new-found freedom and enjoy that delicious cup of coffee.
