So, as I said recently, I've been trying to get in better shape and I have lost a good amount of weight, thus far. (Yay Me!) As a result, I don't have a lot of clothes that still fit me and I'm trying not to purchase too many items until I reach my goal weight. At this point in time, I do not own a dress or skirt that fits properly. I agreed to go to SM with DH and DD on Christmas morn because I'm a good sport and I want to be with my family. I'm not buying a dress just to wear it once to church. I'm attending SM on Christmas in dress pants! Suck it up, Mormons.

BTW- When I told dh he said it was no biggie to him, but God help anyone if they said anything to me about it. He knows me well! :>)

Oh, probably no one will say a word about it to you. They will just gossip about it behind your back...

Freezing weather? --wear a dress.
Pouring rain? –wear a dress.
Must wear orthopedic shoes? --wear a dress.
Snowstorm? --wear a dress.
Windy, dusty, or unpredictable weather? --wear a dress.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Anyway, be sure to return & report, Pink Poodle!

I must have been reported because the Branch President stopped me later (he wasn't at that mtg to know I wore pants).

He stopped me one day in the neighbourhood when I was riding my bike and said, "Sister _____ you can't wear pants to any church meeting that opens and closes with prayer."

I said, "You are absolutely right! I put my Sunday best on every night before I say my prayers."

And I rode off leaving him with his mouth open."

just be careful ;) According to some women on babycenter, god will feel that you are being "disrespectful" if you aren't in proper clothing....

And all this time I thought that God looked into your heart, not what you were wearing.

Perhaps you can talk a man into wearing a 'Hooters' shirt to priesthood meeting. They won't gossip about you then.

Ladybug has it exactly right. Unfortunately!

I didn't wear a dress to a "wear your Sunday best" activity once and that next week my bishop asked me if I needed a bishops order to D.I so I could get some church clothes.

I did admire them though, and wish there could have been some way to compliment their courage.

As far as I'm concerned, nice dress pants are church clothes.

I often wear Middle Eastern salswaar kameezes to church. they have a long blouse with longs sleeves and matching pants. I've never gotten any flak from anyone.
