That's because the LDS "church" is a corporation— and they use their power to muscle search engine results— through an army of believers and by shelling out serious cash for SEO (search engine optimization). This means they rank higher on Google and other search engines. These type of results cost big corps hundreds of thousands a year and I doubt that this is done in-house at COB. I could be wrong but doubt it.

Damn. Wish it weren't true but these bastards have got a well functioning PR machine in operation.

Critics need to get out there and makes sure their voices are heard. Create a blog and post often. Frequent sites you want to promote. Share, like and review content you think is worthwhile etc.

I used to work for an SEO company in Utah Valley. I remember when some of our guys met with TSCC hoping to get a contract to do their SEO work. We didn't get it, but I'm pretty sure they do use another company.

exmormon.org beats out mormon.org AND lds.org (doesnt even show up in the first couple of pages) for the phrase "mormonism" =)
