i'm reposting this great find by kath, as posted on the exmormon yahoo mailing list:
"
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is absolutely indispensable to our salvation. No supposed personal relationship with Jesus, no commitment to the gospel, no high level of Christian conduct in society can compensate for what is to be found in the Church" (p. 140). "Alive In Christ, Robert Millet, former Dean of Religious Education at BYU and spokesperson for the Church.

Your personal relationship with Jesus isn't as important as your
relationship with the church? WTF?
"

...the Poelman GC talk. In it's original form, it implied true believers can grow beyond needing the church to micromanage their lives. Uh-uh, no no no no no, can't have that.

Interesting quote, since he is the liaison with a number of evangelical leaders in Utah, and says anything they want to hear to soothe and please them.

A friend who has talked to him described him just the other day as Satan, smooth and alluring.
