I have a friend who I gew up with and is a prety good guy. I fight a lot with him and his family (they are good people) about the Church ever since I stoped believing and left. I see a lot of subtle hints that my friend might be a closet doubter.
#1: He is inactive (says he doesnt go to Church) but still wears his garments
#2: He always bashes Mormons. EX "Yeah that family are a bunch of douches."
#3: He says he still believes but only defends TSCC whenever his parents and family are around.
#4: He suffers from major depresion.
#5: He subtely agreed with something I pointed out once. EX: "Yeah Brigham Young did say you needed at least three wives to get into heaven."
I would like to help him do whatever it is he wants to, but this is a delacate situation. His father is TBM and usually has prety week logic when defending Mormonism and I do not want to encourage him to leave and be responsible for any family problems. Has anyone else been in a situation like this, how did you deal with it?
