I wrote back:


First of all, I've received this message from others. Several have it posted on Facebook. I'd be willing to do what ever I could to protect anyone. But I have to ask you if this really does any good.

Do you think that God is listening and if enough people pray, he will step in and intervene on their behalf? Had this message come sooner, and lots of people had prayed, could those 9 lives have been saved? What about those guys for whom no one prays. Does God turn a blind eye and let them die? And what about those folks for whom lots and lots of folks did pray and they died anyway? Why did that happen?


I cannot believe in prayer other than the "meditation" effect of calming one's mind. Those of you who do believe in the power of prayer, how does it work for you? I sincerely want to know.
